Global IT issue *Update 22.07/2024*

Update: Mon 22.07.2024

We are pleased to inform you that our IT system is now operational and our services are resuming gradually to normal levels.  However we request you to help us to help you, by  refraining from contacting us this week for any non-essential requests (admin letters, medicals etc),  so we can focus on clearing the work backlog that resulted due to the IT outage. Thus to giving us time to recover fully.

We thank you for your patience and co-operation.

Update: Fri 19.07.2024

We are aware of a global IT issue which is affecting our practice and others across south east London.

It may be necessary to rearrange your appointment as we manage this issue. If you have an appointment booked you should attend as planned unless you are advised otherwise. To help align expectations, we are currently unable to access historical information, and are unable to place electronic orders for pathology and radiology, or to create electronic prescriptions. We have business continuity processes in place to support patients and the practice.

Work is ongoing to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. It is anticipated that the issue will lead to an increased demand on other services such as NHS111 and urgent treatment centres.

IT systems used by other providers have also been affected such as rostering systems and dictation systems. Synnovis has also been affected, but are working to restore their systems. 111 are receiving a large volume of calls and are unable to book patients directly into GP practices. Patients are being asked to only request appointments where they need care to be provided today. Please avoid contacting us for non-essential requests in the next week, to give us time to recover and restore our services to normality.

Those who need urgent medical care should call 999 or attend A&E, especially in emergency and life-threatening cases when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.

More information about when to call 999 and when to go to A&E is available via the national NHS website.

Further updates will be provided on the practice website as soon as they are available.
