Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need further tests or treatment, we will contact you, according to clinical priority.
If your test results are normal you may not be contacted, as ‘no news is usually good news’ as we have a proactive process in place. If you wish to discuss your test results please book an appointment to see the clinician who requested the test after these become available on your App. Some test results may take longer to be received.
Patients can conveniently view their test results through the NHS App without needing to call or visit the practice. Once results have been reviewed by a GP, they will be available in the “Test Results” section of the app.
Need help viewing your test results via the NHS App? Watch the ‘How to see your GP health record on the NHS App’ video for step-by-step guidance.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we do not usually give out results by telephone and only do so when necessary to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
